help restore our
historic Arches

The Laurelhurst Welcome Arches have served as inviting symbols of our vibrant neighborhood for over 100 years. And, like all 100-year-old structures, they’re in need of some restoration and repairs. Built in 1910, each of the seven Arches is made of sandstone and feature classical detailing of a level of craftsmanship uncommon today.

The Laurelhurst Welcome Arches are a series of ornamental arches in the Laurelhurst neighborhood. They were built in 1910 to demarcate the boundaries of the Laurelhurst neighborhood developed by the Laurelhurst development Company. The arches are made of sandstone and feature classical detailing such as scrolling consoles, dentils, carved keystones, and smooth and hand-tooled textured surfaces. There are seven arches located throughout the neighborhood. The Laurelhurst Arches continue to be a popular destination for visitors to Portland and are often featured in historic tours and events

Today, the Laurelhurst Welcome Arches serve as an inviting symbol of this vibrant neighborhood. The arches are a unique feature of Portland and are over one hundred years old. The arches desperately need comprehensive repairs, restoration, and ongoing maintenance.

We need your help to raise the funds to accomplish our goal of repairing and restoring the Laurelhurst Welcome Arches, so they can stand for years to come.
