Content Manager - LNA Communications 📢
Volunteer Opportunity for Aspiring or Current Social Media and Content Managers and Marketers
Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in social media management, email marketing, copywriting and working with AI tools for content?
The Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association is seeking a Content Manager to join our communications team. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build their resume and work experience in content and social media management and email marketing. The role will report to the LNA Communications Officer, who is the founder of a social media and video content production company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Calendar Management: Oversee and manage our content calendar using the task management software Trello, ensuring all content is organized and scheduled across different channels.
- Communication Request Management: Monitor the request form and respond to requests from Board members and committee members for event announcements and volunteer recruitment.
- Content Creation and Scheduling: Execute AI prompts and edit the AI output to turn drafts and information into email newsletters, website announcements, and social media posts for Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. After approval by the Communications Officer, schedule the content for publication on our scheduling software, Mailchimp and WordPress.
- Coordinate with the Newsletter Team: Pass to the physical newsletter team appropriate communication requests and content for editorial consideration and possible inclusion in the physical newsletter.
- Content Review and Approval: Submit created content for weekly review by the Communications Officer and schedule it for posting upon approval.
Tools and Training:
- Task Management: Trello (training provided)
- Website Management: WordPress (training provided for posting content and uploading announcements)
- Social Media Scheduling: Followr (training provided)
- Email Marketing: Mailchimp (training provided)
Time Commitment:
- Expected Hours: 5-10 hours per month (more initially as you learn the systems, less later as you become proficient)
